Sea Freight Costs

For a standard passenger vehicle, sea freight rates start from USD 1,300, depending on port and dimensions. Additionally, inland transport from the auction yard, showroom, or free-zone facility to the port costs from USD 100.

Import Duty

Within the European Union, the import duty for passenger vehicles is 10% of the vehicle’s purchase value in the UAE, regardless of the destination port. Classic and collector cars are exempt from this duty.

VAT rates depend on the country of destination within Europe — typically between 19% and 23%, depending on local regulations. Classic vehicles (over 30 years old) may qualify for a reduced VAT rate of 7%.

Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit is required before participating in vehicle auctions. This deposit serves as a guarantee of transaction commitment. In case the client fails to complete payment for a purchased vehicle, the auction house may charge a penalty fee of 10–15% of the winning bid amount. If the bid is unsuccessful, the deposit can be rolled over to the next auction or refunded within 48 hours. Zenith requires a signed agreement and deposit prior to auction participation.

Auction Fees

Auction fees vary depending on the auction house and the final value of the vehicle, typically ranging from 9% to 12.5% of the purchase price. On average, for a vehicle purchased around USD 7,000, the fee is approximately USD 500.

Zenith charges a USD 1,350 service fee, covering complete management of the import process, including documentation, inspection coordination, logistics, and customs assistance — ensuring full transparency and reliability from purchase to delivery.
